Unguided Keystone Snowmobile Rentals provide the perfect opportunity to explore Colorado’s largest commercial trail system at your own pace, with over 55,000 acres of terrain atop Vail Pass.
Based from a private lodge at the foot of the trail system, guests can set out on over 100 miles of groomed trails or choose to blaze their own through untouched powder fields, filled to the brim with Colorado’s legendary champagne powder.
Snowmobile Rentals at Vail Pass offer a diverse array of terrain for experienced and non-experienced riders alike. Travel along forested hillsides, alpine ridgelines and through open bowls and meadows as you take in incredible views of the Ten Mile and Gore Mountain Ranges.
Rentals are available in flexible increments of 2 hours, 4 hours and 8 hours. Rider check-in is required 30 minutes prior to snowmobile rental start times. The check-in facility features a full service restaurant with views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

- Peak Season dates include: 11/20/23 – 11/26/23, 12/21/23 – 1/7/24, 1/12/24 –1/14/24, 2/12/24 – 2/19/24 and 3/1/24 – 3/31/24. Please note that 8 hour rentals are not offered during peak times.
- Guests must provide their own transportation to the snowmobile base camp. 4-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive is recommended and frequently required during times of heavy snowfall. Please plan accordingly.
- Keystone Snowmobile Rental Prices include helmets for both drivers and passengers.
- Maps of the trail system are included. Snowsuits, boots, and goggles are available for a small additional charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Drivers must be 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license in order to operate their own snowmobile. Drivers must be a minimum of 18 years of age in order to carry a passenger.
- Keystone Snowmobile Rentals at Vail Pass prices do not include a National Forest Service day use and grooming fee of $20 per person.
- A credit card imprint, serving as a damage deposit, is required on all Keystone Snowmobiling Rentals.
- A signed liability waiver for personal injury is required prior to Vail Pass Snowmobile Rental departure.
- All Keystone Snowmobile Rentals are prepaid at the time of booking and have a 24-hour cancellation policy.
